A multiple-radio mesh network access point (AP), the Cisco Aironet AIR-LAP1524PS-A-K9 comes preconfigured and compliant-ready to meet with IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b/g, and 4.9-GHz public safety standards. A lightweight, secure and flexible AP, the AIR-LAP1524PS-A-K9 can simultaneously support both public and private applications by dedicating each radio band. A 2.4-GHz radio and a 4.9-GHz radio provide access for licensed public safety clients as well as unlicensed Wi-Fi users; and a 5.8-GHz radio handles the backhaul traffic. Scheduled to be end-of-lifed in March 2012, a new or used AIR-LAP1524PS-A-K9 utilizes the mesh network for increased range and mobility, and may be powered by AC power, 12 VDC, or Power over Ethernet (PoE).
